Mr. Cantwell’s practice areas include the defense of casualty and negligence cases, including automobile accidents and premises liability.
Mr. Cantwell is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he graduated magna cum laude. He received his Juris Doctor from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where he graduated summa cum laude and was an inductee into the Order of the Coif. While attending law school, Mr. Cantwell served as the Articles Editor for the Buffalo Law Review. He was also a semifinalist in the 2014 Albert R. Mugel National Moot Court Competition.
Mr. Cantwell is admitted to practice in the State of New York and is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Bar Association of Erie County where he participates in the Young Lawyers, Labor, and Negligence Committees.
Prior to joining Gibson, McAskill & Crosby, LLP, Mr. Cantwell spent two years clerking for the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Fourth Department. During law school, he served as a student judicial intern to judges of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia District, and the United States District Court for the Western District of New York.
Mr. Cantwell is active with Go Bike Buffalo and PUSH – People United for Sustainable Housing.
