Practice Area

Ms. Cross devotes her practice to representing and achieving successful results for insured and self-insured clients.  She specifically handles casualty and negligence matters involving premises liability, automobile liability, product liability and industrial construction accidents, along with matters involving contract disputes and employment disputes.  Additionally, Ms. Cross’ practice includes representing nursing homes in medical malpractice and negligence matters, in particular in the defense of class action litigation.

Education/Experience

Ms. Cross is a graduate of the State University of New York College at Geneseo.  She received her Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law.  While in law school, she served as Business Editor for the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce and also attained an Advanced Certificate in Health Services Management and Policy from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Ms. Cross is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the United States District Court, Western District of New York.  She is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, Bar Association of Erie County, Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York and the Defense Research Institute.  Ms. Cross is also a graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Trial Academy.

Ms. Cross is an active member of ALFA International and is one of Gibson, McAskill & Crosby’s Contact Partners for this organization.

Ms. Cross was honored to be chosen as a speaker for the Defense Research Institute’s September 2017 Nursing Home/ALF Litigation seminar in which she presented on the topic of “Granny Cams and Smartphones: Use of Audio and Video Footage in the Nursing Home Setting.” She also previously co-authored an article for Sharing Success, a publication for the Defense Research Institute, Women in the Law Committee. Additionally, Ms. Cross was chosen in the past as one of Buffalo Business First’s “Forty Under Forty.” She has consistently been named a Rising Star for her work in Civil Litigation Defense by Super Lawyers, Upstate New York edition.

Community Involvement

Ms. Cross previously served on the Board of Trustees for Mount Saint Mary Academy in Kenmore, New York, and was elected as President for the 2012-2013 term. Currently, she is the Attorney Coach of the school’s Mock Trial Team. Ms. Cross also serves on the Board of Directors for The Holocaust Resource Center of Buffalo and has assisted with fundraising activities for Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center.
