Kathleen M. Sweet

Ms. Sweet is a graduate of Boston College where she was honored as the Big East Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year. She graduated from the Villanova University Law School and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New York. Ms. Sweet is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Erie County and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York. She has served as the regional coordinator for JALBCA (Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert) and is on the Liaison Committee for the Medical Society of the County of Erie. She is presently serving a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of Erie County.

Ms. Sweet has successfully defended numerous medical malpractice cases to verdict. In addition to representing individual health care professionals, including physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners and nurse midwives, she serves on the firm’s team of litigators representing the largest health care system in Western New York. A former confidential law assistant at the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Fourth Department, Ms. Sweet handles several appeals each year. She also represents and defends physicians who are subject to professional discipline at the institutional level and with respect to state agency action against their license to practice. Ms Sweet is also a certified mediator for the Unites States District Court, Western District of New York.
