Gibson, McAskill & Crosby is pleased and proud to announce that its associate, Elisha D. Teibel, has been selected as one of fifteen law school recipients of the Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Award for the 2020 Burton Awards. The Burton Awards—founded by William C. Burton, Esq., funded by the Burton Foundation, held in association with the Library of Congress, and sponsored by Law360 and the American Bar Association—were established in 1999 to honor the finest accomplishments in law across the nation, including writing, reform, public service and interest, regulatory innovation, and lifetime achievements in the profession. The Distinguished Legal Writing Award is conferred upon law school writers whose legal articles demonstrate creativity, clarity, and a true understanding and mastery of the law and each law school in the country may nominate only one student article for this honor. Ms. Teibel’s 2019 publication in the William & Mary Environmental Law and Policy Review, “Waste Size: The Skinny on the Environmental Costs of the Fashion Industry,” was nominated by William & Mary Law School and after careful review by the esteemed members of the Academic Board, Ms. Teibel’s legal note was selected as one of the fifteen winners of this Burton Award. A black-tie event honoring the awardees will be held in Washington D.C. in June. Gibson, McAskill & Crosby congratulates Ms. Teibel on this incredible achievement!
