Gibson, McAskill & Crosby, LLP is proud to announce its newest group of law clerks for the summer of 2024. Please join us in welcoming the following individuals to our team (as pictured from left to right, back row listed first):

-Michael Seggio, who will be entering his second year at Syracuse University College of Law;

-Blake Breidenstein, who will be entering his second year at the University at Buffalo School of Law;

-Daniel Scully, who will be entering his third year at the University at Buffalo School of Law;

-Alex Deantonis, who will be entering his third year at the University at Buffalo School of Law;

-Julia Slazyk, who will be entering her second year at Indiana University, Robert H. McKinney School of Law;

-Antwain Palmer, who will be entering his second year at the University at Buffalo School of Law; and

-Alicia Quarterman, who will be entering her third year at the University at Buffalo School of Law.

Our law clerk program pairs each law clerk with a partner and associate who mentor them throughout the summer, but each clerk is afforded an opportunity to work with several of the firm’s attorneys and practice groups throughout their time at the firm. Several of the firm’s current partners and associates came through the law clerk program.

Third Annual Carmella Classic – PUNT Pediatric Cancer Collaborative

Gibson, McAskill & Crosby, LLP was proud to sponsor the Third Annual Carmella Classic, honoring the life of Carmella Rossi, the heroic daughter of one of the firm’s partners, Amanda Rossi, whose life was cut all too short by pediatric cancer. Today’s event raised money for PUNT Pediatric Cancer Collaborative, which supports Western New York families battling pediatric cancer. As Carmella would say, “Be brave like me.” Today and always, we remember and honor Carmella’s legacy.

Gibson, McAskill & Crosby, LLP attends Niagara County Sheriff’s Golf Tournament

Gibson, McAskill & Crosby, LLP, was a proud sponsor of this year’s Niagara County Sheriff’s Golf Tournament, which was held this past Monday at Pendleton Creek Golf Club. The tournament benefits the Niagara County Law Enforcement Foundation, which support local law enforcement efforts not funded by tax payer dollars. The Foundation funds projects that support public safety and provides increased safety to the citizens of Niagara County and beyond. Contributions support countless programs such as ALL-STAR, Mercy Flight, K-9 support, police officer training programs, crime prevention, officer memorial services and scholarship assistance programs. Congratulations to one of our partners, Melissa Morton, Esq., on winning the women’s longest drive contest.

Gibson, McAskill & Crosby, LLP, is proud to announce that one of its partners, Michael Sullivan, Esq., recently attended and spoke at a seminar put on in Colorado Springs, Colorado by ALFA International’s Transportation Practice Group. Mr. Sullivan spoke on a panel addressing the topic of “Exploring Legal Considerations of Certain Information Contained within Employee Files and Handbooks”. Mr. Sullivan was assisted by one of our associates, Chelsea MacDonald, Esq., in putting together his portion of the presentation. Way to go, Mike and Chelsea!

Congratulations to our Special Counsel Nicholas DeMarco and team

Congratulations to our special counsel, Nicholas DeMarco, and his team here at Gibson, McAskill & Crosby, LLP,  on obtaining a successful, unanimous verdict in favor of our client, a local owner and developer, following a jury trial in the Commercial Division for the Eighth Judicial District. This contentious matter involved breach of contract allegations stemming from AIA contracts for construction of a project in downtown Buffalo. Congratulations to the team on a job well done.
